APPOINTMENTS
Appointments can be made by calling my office at 540-459-2903. If I am not available you will need to leave a message and I will return your call within a few days. New patients are usually scheduled for a 1.5 to 2 hour initial appointment, allowing time for a complete medical history. This generally entails a detailed conversation about your current health, health history, family history, diet, lifestyle habits, etc. as well as a physical exam. At that time I will discuss potential approaches and options regarding further evaluation and treatment and make some initial recommendations regarding your care. Most advice will be deferred until after tests results are in and there has been time to thoughtfully consider your case.
Usually a followup appointment will be made during the next few weeks and I will discuss your findings and make further specific recommendations regarding evaluation as well as suggestions regarding diet, lifestyle changes, supplements, and medications that may be most appropriate for your care.
How often you will need to be seen will depend on why and for what you are being seen. Some people will need to be seen rarely for screening and reevaluation. Many people who have multiple complaints are seen more often based on the severity of their condition.

FEES AND PAYMENT
I currently accept Medicare and most private insurance coverage. In those situations in which I do not participate you will be provided a copy of your bill to submit directly to your insurance company. Because of the extra time required in some complex cases and the nature of some of my services, such as acupuncture and health counseling, insurance may not completely cover all services. When it is clear that a service will not be covered by insurance you will be expected to pay at the time of service. Payment may be made by cash, check or major credit card.
